The story of Rama had doubts about Sita’s chastity because his wife had stayed in the enemy’s palace for a long time. Realizing this, Sita also ordered Laksmana to collect as much firewood as possible and make a bonfire. Soon Sita climbed into the fire. From the flames suddenly appeared Lord Brahma and Lord Agni and lifted Sita’s body alive. This proved Sita’s holiness so that Rama was relieved to accept her back.
